Patch 1.0.12 Guide Status
Patch 1.0.12, released September 4, is the current maintenance reference for this walkthrough. It adds Steam Cloud support and changes several mechanics that touch the Piranha, Tuna, dropped items, voice chat, frame-rate behavior, music loading, and final-boss damage.
What changed in Patch 1.0.12
Existing saves need one normal play-and-exit cycle on their original PC before they upload. Recovery advice now treats Cloud sync as a backup aid, not proof that a missing quest object can be restored automatically.
Piranha was rebalanced and Tuna was slightly nerfed. The stable summon, landing, body-protection, and hand-in routes remain useful, but old hit counts and damage assumptions are not published as current facts.
The new limit should make physical items harder to lose. Players should still land bosses on flat ground, inspect the unique drop, and complete the NPC hand-in before handling ordinary loot.
Explosives should now damage the final boss even when they land on its tail. The normal ranged route can use that fix; the Handyman achievement route remains a separate bare-hands attempt.
How older gameplay footage is handled
Some owner-provided recordings were captured on Patches 1.0.8, 1.0.9, or 1.0.10. Those frames can still prove a visible location, NPC, item name, quest dependency, or attack tell. They cannot prove that an old price, damage value, animation shortcut, drop behavior, or weapon balance remains unchanged in 1.0.12.
For that reason, the site keeps the recorded build beside version-sensitive techniques and uses Patch 1.0.12 only as the current release reference. A route is not labeled retested unless a new run actually reproduces it. This distinction is more useful than silently replacing every older patch number with the newest one.
Pages affected by the current patch
- Giant Piranha: recheck combat pace and avoid fixed hit-count claims.
- Tuna: preserve the route body, but treat older combat difficulty as historical.
- Lost boss items: use the new velocity limit and Steam Cloud as supporting safeguards, not guarantees.
- Mutated Bowhead Whale: final-boss explosives now have an official tail-hit fix.
- Tips and tricks: movement and animation shortcuts remain labeled as 1.0.10 observations until retested.
Publication rule for future updates
Stable quest order is updated only when an objective or a verified run changes it. Patch-sensitive claims need a visible current-build result before they are promoted. If the evidence is incomplete, the guide states the boundary or leaves the value out. Use the contact page to report a different 1.0.12 result with the page URL and exact objective state.
